Day 1 SYDNEY / NARITA Sat 05 APR

Day flight to Narita airport and transfer to hotel in Tokyo.
A light Supper will be served at hotel.

Day 2 TOKYO Sun 06 APR

Morning tour to Tokyo Tower observatory, Asakusa Temple and stroll down the colourful Nakamise shopping street, Ueno and Ginza. Welcome
Dinner at hotel.

Day 3 TOKYO – MT. FUJI & HAKONE Mon 07 APR

Enjoy full day tour of Mt. Fuji & Hakone National Park. Enjoy picturesque Hakone including a Lake Ashi ferry trip. Late afternoon, return to Tokyo.

Day 4 TOKYO – KYOTO Tue 08 APR

Morning, travel to Kyoto by Bullet train. Afternoon, sightseeing tour of Kyoto, visiting Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle and Kiyomizu temple overlooking the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the atmospheric Higashiyama.

Day 5 KYOTO – HIROSHIMA/MIYAJIMA – KYOTO Wen 09 APR

Early morning, catch a Bullet train to visit Miyajima Island and the famous floating Itsukushima Shrine and world famous Torii gate. Visit Hiroshima Peace park and museum. Late afternoon, return to Kyoto.

Day at leisure.
Optional tour of Nara is available.
Visit Todaiji temple & deer park and Kasuga shrine.

Day 7 KYOTO – KANAZAWA Fri 11 APR

Morning, travel to Kanazawa. Enjoy visiting Kanazawa’s old geisha district Higashiyama , Gold Leaf craft work shop, Kutani pottery work shop, Kenrokuen garden, one of Japan’s most famous gardens and samurai residential area.

Day 9 KANAZAWA – SHIRAKAWAGO – TAKAYAMA – NAGOYA Sun 13 APR

Travel to Shirakawago Ogimachi, a small world heritage listed village, nestled in the mountains beside a pristine mountain river. After soaking up the atmosphere, and travel then on to Takayama, whose isolation has allowed Edo period streets, lined with tiny shops, museums eating
places, to survive to this day. Stay at Nagoya.

Day 10 KISO VALLEY (MAGOME & TSUMAGO) – TOKYO Mon 14 APR

Travel to Tsumago, a town seldom visited by group tours, where cars are banned and signs of modernity such as power lines are hidden to maintain the old style ambience. After strolling along the old streets and enjoying up the atmosphere, travel on to Tokyo.
Farewell Dinner.

Day at leisure.
Perhaps visit Nikko or Kamakura. Your tour coordinator will help organise your activity.

Day 12 TOKYO – AUSTRALIA Wed 16 APR

Free time until 4:00pm when we will leave for Narita Airport to catch our flight to Australia. Enjoy your last day in Japan with some last minute souvenir hunting or some optional half day activity. Perhaps follow your tour guide to visit Harajuku Takeshita dori and Omotesando.
