Welcome aboard a Tour of Japan. The Cherry Blossom Dreams Tour has been designed for our customers to catch the cherry blossoms at their best. You will visit Tokyo, Mt. Fuji & Hakone, Takayama, Shirakawago/Ogimachi, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima and Miyajima, and Tsumago & Magome in Kiso Valley.

Day flight to Narita Airport and transfer to Tokyo hotel.

Morning tour to Tokyo Tower observatory, Asakusa Temple and stroll down the colourful Nakamise shopping street, Ueno and Ginza.
Welcome Dinner at hotel.

Day 3 TOKYO – MT. FUJI & HAKONE – TOKYO Sat 30 MAR
Thu 04 APR
Enjoy full day tour of Mt. Fuji & Hakone National Park. Enjoy picturesque Hakone including a Lake Ashi ferry trip.
Late afternoon, return to Tokyo.

Day 4 TOKYO – KYOTO Sun 31 MAR
Fri 05 APR
Morning, travel to Kyoto by Bullet train. Afternoon, sightseeing tour of Kyoto, visiting Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle and Kiyomizu temple overlooking the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the atmospheric Higashiyama.

Day 5 KYOTO – HIROSHIMA/MIYAJIMA – KYOTO Mon 01 APR
Sat 06 APR
Early morning, catch a Bullet train to visit Miyajima Island and the famous floating Itsukushima Shrine and world famous Torii gate. Visit Hiroshima Peace park and museum. Late afternoon, return to Kyoto.

Visit Todaiji temple & deer park and Kasuga shrine.

Day 7 KYOTO – KANAZAWA Wed 03 APR

Morning, travel to Kanazawa. Enjoy visiting Kanazawa’s old geisha district Higashiyama , Gold Leaf craft work shop, Kutani pottery work shop, Kenrokuen garden, one of Japan’s most famous gardens and samurai residential area.

Day 9 KANAZAWA – SHIRAKAWAGO – TAKAYAMA – NAGOYA Fri 05 APR
Wed 10 APR
Travel to Shirakawago Ogimachi, a small world heritage listed village, nestled in the mountains beside a pristine mountain river. After soaking up the atmosphere, and travel then on to Takayama, whose isolation has allowed Edo period streets, lined with tiny shops, museums eating
places, to survive to this day. Stay at Nagoya.

Day 10 KISO VALLEY (MAGOME & TSUMAGO) – TOKYO Sat 06 APR
Thu 11 APR
Travel to Tsumago, a town seldom visited by group tours, where cars are banned and signs of modernity such as power lines are hidden to maintain the old style ambience. After strolling along the old streets and enjoying up the atmosphere, travel on to Tokyo.
Farewell Dinner.

Day at leisure.
Perhaps visit Nikko or go to Tokyo Disneyland, or to Ginza and Roppongi for window shopping, or to the electrical town of Akihabara. Your tour coordinator will help organise your activity.

Day 12 TOKYO – AUSTRALIA Mon 08 APR

Free time until 4:00pm when we will leave for Narita Airport to catch our flight to Australia. Enjoy your last day in Japan with some last minute souvenir hunting or some optional half day activity. Perhaps follow your tour guide to visit Harajuku Takeshita dori and Omotesando.
