Welcome aboard a “13 Day Japan Experience tour 2015″.

Enjoy our new tour features: Visiting Kiso Valley village of Tsumago; The castle town of Matsumoto; Staying at a hot spring (an Onsen) resort; the experience of staying at a Japanese Inn (a Ryokan) and enjoying a Japanese traditional dinner.

Day flight to Narita airport. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel in Tokyo by Airport Limousine Bus. Check in at hotel in Tokyo for 3 nights.

Full day Tokyo sightseeing with lunch, visiting Tokyo Metropolitan observatory tower, and Asakusa Kannon Temple. Welcome dinner.

Full day Mt Fuji and picturesque Hakone tour with lunch. Tour includes Mt Fuji 5th Station, Hakone Ropeway and Lake Ashi Cruise.

DAY 4 TOKYO – KANAZAWA Sat 28 MAR

Morning, travel to Kanazawa a Samurai town. Upon arrival enjoy the gold leaf manufacturing workshop and Kanazawa’s Geisha house district. Visiting Kenrokuen Garden, one of the three most famous gardens in Japan. 3 nights accommodation in Kanazawa.

Day 5 KANAZAWA – TAKAYAMA – SHIRAKAWAGO – KANAZAWA Sun 29 MAR

Travel to Takayama whose isolation has allowed Edo period streets, lined with tiny shops, museums and eating place to be preserved. Next visit Shirakawago and Gokayama, a World Heritage listed small village. Experience Washi (Japanese rice paper) making.

Morning, leave for Kyoto by JR express train. In the afternoon join a tour which includes the Golden Pavilion and Nijo castle. Dinner at hotel. 3 nights accommodation in Kyoto.

Day 8 KYOTO – HIROSHIMA – KYOTO Wed 01 APR

Leave for Hiroshima by JR bullet train.
Upon arrival, Miyajima Itsukushima floating Shrine and five-storied Pagoda sightseeing. Visit Hiroshima Peace Park and Atomic Dome. Return to Kyoto by bullet train.

Morning at leisure. Afternoon, visit Kiyomizu Temple overlooking the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of atmospheric Higashiyama.

DAY 10 KYOTO – KISO / TSUMAGO VILLAGE – NAGANO / MATSUMOTO Fri 03 APR

Travel to Kiso Tsumago village which is surrounded by steep mountains and retains the scenery of the old days. In order to avoid ruining the town’s almost 300-year-old Edo-period appearance, overhead power lines and cables are well hidden from the streets.
Travel on to Matsumoto / Nagano to our accommodation, a Japanese style Ryokan.
Enjoy a Japanese traditional dinner and Onsen hot spring.

DAY 11 NAGANO/MATSUMOTO – TOKYO Sat 04 APR

Matsumoto, situated in the centre of Nagano and known as the gateway to the Northern Alps’ climbing routes, prospered as a castle town at the foot of Matsumoto Castle.
In the morning, visit Matsumoto Castle. Afternoon, leave for Tokyo. 2 nights accommodation in Tokyo. Farewell dinner at hotel.

Enjoy your last day in Japan with some last minute souvenir hunting or some optional half day activity. Afternoon, leave hotel for Narita by airport bus. Depart for Australia.
