Day 1 SYDNEY – TOKYO Sat 28 MAR

Day flight to Narita airport and transfer to hotel in Tokyo. A light Supper will be served at hotel.

Sightseeing tour of Tokyo including, Tokyo observation deck, Asakusa temple and stroll down the colourful Nakamise shopping arcade. Lunch
at local restaurant.

Day 3 MT. FUJI & HAKONE Hot Spring Resort Mon 30 MAR
Mon 06 APR

Travel to Mt. Fuji & Hakone region and enjoy picturesque Hakone including the lake Ashi cruise and ropeway. Lunch at local restaurant by the lakeside. Check in at Onsen (hot spring resort). Welcome dinner.

Day 4 HAKONE – KYOTO Tue 31 MAR

Travel on to Kyoto by Bullet train. Afternoon, visit Kiyomizu temple overlooking the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the atmospheric Higashiyama.

Kyoto sightseeing tour, visiting Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle. Afternoon, travel to Fushimi Inari Return to hotel. Dinner at hotel.

Day 7 KYOTO – HIROSHIMA – OKAYAMA Fri 03 APR

Mid morning, travel to Hiroshima. Visit the Hiroshima Peace museum. and Miyajima Island, a small island, famous for Itsukushima Shrine &
floating torii gate, officially one of Japan’s Top 3 Views and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stay in Okayama for 3 nights.

Day 8 OKAYAMA – TAKAMATSU Sat 04 APR

Cross the inland sea, visit Takamatsu Ritsurin Park which is the largest national special scenic Beauty Garden, made up of 6 ponds and 13 hills beautifully arranged against the green pine trees as well as many stone arrangements that evolve into the wonderful style of the early Edo era.

Day 9 OKAYAMA – KURASHIKI – OKAYAMA Sun 05 APR

Morning, travel to Kurashiki a well preserved Edo period mercantile town. Enjoy a stroll through this fascinating town. Also visit Okayama castle and Korakuen garden. The garden is one of the three most famous gardens in Japan, along with the Kairakuen Garden in Mito, and Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa.

Check out from hotel. Mid morning, travel on to samurai town Kanazawa. Check in for 3 nights.

Sightseeing tour to Kanazawa’s old geisha district, Gold Leaf and famous Kutani Pottery workshops, the former samurai residential area and the Kenrokuen garden which is another Japan’s most famous gardens. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 12 SHIRAKAWAGO – TAKAYAMA – KANAZAWA Wed 08 APR

Travel on to Shirakawago Ogimachi, a small world heritage listed village, nestled in the mountains beside a pristine mountain river. Travel to another old town Takayama whose isolation has allowed Edo period streets, lined with tiny shops, museums and eating places, to survive to this day. Return to Kanazawa.

Day 13 KANAZAWA – TOKYO Thu 09 APR

Morning we travel back to Tokyo by new Kanazawa bullet train line, arriving midday. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel and check in for 2 nights. Farewell dinner at hotel.

Day at leisure. Perhaps visit Nikko, Kamakura, or go to Ginza and Roppongi for window shopping, or to the electrical town of Akihabara. Your tour coordinator will help organise your activity. Optional tours (Nikko Tour or Kamakura Tour)

Enjoy your last day in Japan with some last minute souvenir hunting or some optional half day activity. Afternoon, leave hotel for Narita by airport bus. Depart for Australia.
